The following is a list of Jeep transmissions and the specific Jeep vehicle they fit. Jeep is a registered trademark of Daimler Chrysler LLC. We are not responsible for any errors.   1. 30RHis a three speed automatic transmission for 1992 to 1995 Wrangler YJ & 1992 to 1996 Cherokee XJ with 2.5L engine.
  2. 32RH is a three speed automatic transmission was used in 1992 to 1995 Wrangler YJ with 4.0L engine and also the 1997 to 2006 Wrangler TJ with 4.0L engine.
  3. 42RE is a four speed automatic transmission for 1993 to 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ with 4.0L engine.
  4. 44RE is a four speed automatic transmission for 1996 to 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ with 5.2L engine.
  5. 45RFE is a four speed automatic transmission for 1999 to 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ with 4.7L engine, 2002–early 2003 Jeep Liberty with 3.7L engine.
  6. 46RE is a four speed automatic transmission was used in 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokees ZJ with 5.9L engines.
  7. 46RH is a four speed automatic transmission for 1993 to 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ with 5.2L engines.
  8. 545RFE is a 5 speed automatic used in 2001–2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 4.7L, 4.7L H.O., 5.7L Hemi engines , 2002–2007 Jeep Liberty with Diesel engine, 2006–2010 Jeep Commander  with 4.7L, 5.7L Hemi engines, and 2007–2010 Jeep Wrangler with 2.8 L CRD.
  9.   904, 909 are light duty 3 speed automatic used in CJs from 1980-1986 only with the I4 engine. It was also used during this time period with Cherokee XJ and Comanche MJ with the I4 and V6 engine. The 909 is a 904 with a lock-up torque converter.
  10. 999 is a medium duty 3 speed automatic used in CJs from 1980-1986. It was also used in 1984-1990 SJs and J pickups with the 4.2L engine, in the Wrangler YJ from 1987-1991 with the 2.5L and 4.2L engine, and in the Cherokee XJ in 1991 with the 2.5L engine.
  11. AW4 is a four speed automatic transmission was used in 1987 to 1990 Jeep Cherokee (XJ), & Jeep Comanche MJ with 2.5L & 4.0L engines. The AW4 was also used in 1991 through 1992 Jeep Comanche MJ & 1991 through 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ & 1993 through 1993.5 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ with 4.0L engines. This was one of the more popular transmissions.
  12.  AX-5 is a light duty 5 speed manual transmission for Wrangler YJ from 1987-mid 1989. It was also used in Cherokees (XJ) and Comanches (MJ) with the 2.8L V6, 2.5L I4, and 4.0L I6 from their introduction until 1989. After mid 1989, the AX-5 has only been used in 4 cylinder Wranglers (YJs and TJs), Cherokees (XJ), and Comanches (MJ).
  13. AX-15 is a medium duty 5 speed manual transmission. It was introduced in mid 1989 in YJs with the 4.2L engine and XJs and MJs with this engine. The first year of the Grand Cherokee (ZJ), the AX-15 was rare option only with the 4.0L engine. The AX-15 is still used in TJs and XJs with the 4.0L engine. Maybe the most popular manual transmission for Jeeps.
  14. BA 10/5 is a light duty 5 speed manual transmission. It and the Aisin AX-5 were used in all Wrangler YJ from 1987-mid 1989. It was also used in Cherokee (XJ) and Comanche (MJ) with the 2.8L V6, 2.5L I4, and 4.0L I6 from their introduction until 1989.
  15. SR-4, T-4 are light duty four speed manual transmissions used in CJs from 1980 until 1986.
  16. T-5 is a light duty 5 speed transmission used in CJs from 1982 until 1986.
  17. T-15 is used only in V8 equipped CJs and Jeep trucks from 1972 to 1975.
  18. T-18 is a heavy duty four speed used in Jeeps from 1971 until 1981. It was used in the CJ from 1971-1979.
  19. T-150 is the 3 speed manual transmission that was used in CJs from 1976 to 1979.
  20. T-176, T-177, T-178: The T-176, T-177, and T-178 are a medium duty four speed manual transmission used in Jeep CJs, SJs, and J pickups from 1980-1986.
  21. TF 727 is a heavy duty 3 speed automatic used in full sized Jeeps (SJs and J series pickups) from 1980-1983. From 1984-1992 the 727 was only used in these trucks with the AMC 360 V8. SJ can also be referred as FSJ or Full Size Jeep.
  22. TH400 is a heavy duty three speed automatic that was used in CJs with the BW 13-39 transfer case from 1976-1979. The TH 400 was also used in full sized Jeeps (SJs and J series pickups) from the late 60s until 1979.

There are a few other transmission designations for newer model beyond the Jeep Wrangler JK model after 2010 and the Grand Cherokee WK model after 2011 but this does not focus on those models as we do not carry many aftermarket and OE replacement parts for those yet. There are also older transmissions not listed here for Jeep models that pre-date the CJ.
